“A Walk in the Park ” – Encaustic, Oils – 40″ x 30″
My last blog was on October 20, 2018. I was then getting ready to participate in Hidden in the Hills in November and immediately after that I moved to a new, expanded studio. So here I am, a few months later, missing our communications and the introduction of new paintings. But fret no more: I intend to continue to introduce new work while providing a short commentary on how it was created and my feelings about it, without interruptions. To start with, “A Walk in the Park” it was not. It took me a while to add quite a few layers of smooth Encaustic before introducing the design and composition. The result is more luminosity, more transparency, texture and richness of layers. It was worth the time and effort! The movement in the painting should help you visualize a stroll in a colorful park where small detours, delightful details and visual surprises abound. It is a Spring day, the sky is blue but still with a whiff of Fall in the grays. The shoots of colorful blooms start pushing through the barely awakened earth. The many details in shapes and colors are intimations of Spring, the potentiality of rebirth, the dynamics of growth. This is a happy painting. And I am happy to be back, talking with you. “A Walk in the Park” is available and will bring light and joy to a beautiful home. As always, please feel free to comment at belafidel@gmail.com. Warm Regards, Bela |
